    Prominent Quotes:

Sh. Ajay Sawhney IAS, Secretary, MeitY, Govt of India in his vision talk on MeitY’ s Mighty Vision said, ‘We have been making efforts to grow the entire ecosystem. Last year, we were able to bring out the National Policy of Electronics 2019. Even during the pandemic, we came out with schemes that were made available from 2nd April and in June, we opened for applications. The responses met our expectation – in fact, it was higher than what we had expected at the inception of the scheme. Over the next 4-5 years’ time, we expect the incremental production – over and above the base year 2019-20, to be around 11.5 lakh crores and the exports to be more than 8 lakh crores during this period’.

Addressing the community, Vinod Dham, Founder and Executive, Managing Partner, Indo-US Venture emphasized on four key focus areas – “India has to build a Fabless ecosystem with a fund of $500m ; Setup & Spur up local Chip Assembly, Test, Marking and Packing (ATMP) Capability; SCL Fab should be Upgraded to a 65nm Fab to meet growing strategic needs; 14nm Fab should be built jointly between Government and India Inc. for fabricating emerging IoT chip and Smart  Processors”.

Dr. Satya Gupta, IESA Chairman & CEO, Seedeyas Innovation, welcoming the audience to the event said,Electronics is the most important tool for inclusive growth and Semiconductors is the greatest enabler of prosperity, achieving the long cherished goals of “Doubling income of farmers”, “Healthcare for all”, “Education for all”, “Clean water & Air for all” & “Strategic security” for the country. At IESA, we believe in putting as much focus on product development as much as manufacturing for long-term self-reliance. We should synergize & collaborate towards the goal of creating an ‘Electronics Products Nation’ & make India the Global powerhouse for Electronics & Semiconductors. The concrete sentiment to innovate, deliver and compete should become the ‘Mantra’ for building a self-reliant nation.

Speaking on the promise of technology which can alter our life and lifestyle, Nivruti Rai, Country Head, Intel India, V.P. DCG, Intel Corp said, “Technology is going to redefine the era we are stepping into. From computing era to the connected era, we are getting into the devices where we are going to be living an intelligent device era. The more value for us as humans will come from the fact that every device we are using is connected and talking to each other. We need to drive innovations, friendlier policies and regulations, and build solutions for India to leverage academia, researchers, start-ups and intellect of multiple people.”

Deepak Bagla, MD & CEO, Invest India informed, “For the first time, in human economic history, a brand new company could get 100 million new clients in 180 days at the cost of one-fifth of acquiring a customer as compared to a global average. And that is a growing power of this economy – one of the fastest-growing power. Not only India is now one of the largest markets, it is one of the fastest-growing, youngest markets with a tremendous workforce and human resource to help in that growth.”
