Validated, IoT-ready TRACe enables Adetel Solution to quickly introduce open architecture, interoperable systems to meet fast-emerging Transportation 4.0 market opportunities
Augsburg, Germany, February 22nd, 2016 – Kontron, a leading global provider for Embedded Computing Technology (ECT), today announced that Adetel Solution has selected the company’s family of TRACe computers as the next generation hardware platform for their wide range of railway system solutions. A leading transportation solution supplier with extensive experience providing embedded transportation systems, Adetel Solution chose TRACe because its application-ready, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) open architecture is already fully validated, certified and compatible with their solutions. These benefits along with being Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled, TRACe delivers significant ‘built-in’ scalability allowing Adetel Solution to streamline the development of their advanced high-performance, connected train information systems enabling them to meet the full-scale deployment demands of fast-emerging Transportation 4.0 market opportunities.
Helping Adetel Solution future-proof their investment, the TRACe modular open-architecture platform has been certified to its video surveillance, passenger information and train-to-ground communication solutions. Showcasing the two company’s combined transportation expertise initially for video surveillance applications, Kontron and Adetel Solution will demonstrate an onboard video surveillance system at Embedded World 2016 in Kontron’s booth#478, Hall 1. The demonstration incorporates Adetel Solution’s video management software with multiple high-resolution cameras including the Samsung Security SNV-6012M 2MP 1080p full HD vandal-resistant network mobile flat camera recorded on the TRACe network video recorder (NVR) and managed by a TRACe HMI.
Designed for both retrofit and new rolling stock applications, Kontron’s COTS-based TRACe EN50155-certified transportation computer family features a small, low-profile design and is compatible with all major operating systems and future processor developments. Adding additional value, TRACe’s integrated health management monitoring API (Application Program Interface) puts clear and holistic information at a user’s fingertips to access everything from train management and passenger service information to video surveillance system health and availability.
“Committed to keeping our competitive edge, Adetel Solution’s strategy in using Kontron COTS transportation solution-ready computers enables us to focus on our core competencies of innovating software and middleware applications, specific passenger comfort products and system integration value-added services,” said Benoît Meyniel, CEO at Adetel Solution.
“As an established global provider of train, wayside and station platform systems, Kontron designed the TRACe family to help system integrators and solution providers meet evolving IoT and infrastructure needs for smarter, more connected solutions,” said Robert Negre, Transportation Business Line Manager at Kontron. “As a proven embedded systems supplier, Adetel Solution understands these dynamic requirements, and by selecting Kontron, truly validates the value our platforms deliver.”
The Adetel Solution video management software (VMS) solution is a software suite including embedded software, firmware, operation and maintenance software tools. The VMS suite is designed to offer in-vehicle video surveillance via its advanced functionalities that support live operation and post-event analysis. The Adetel Solution VMS is entirely IP based and is compatible with a diverse range of cameras and the latest generation of network video encoding and streaming protocols.
